The Move

Time for the big move!
After the movers packed our office, I realized I couldn't find my planner!  That night Dad and I went through all the boxes in the office.  Dad found my planner in the very last box!  Phew!

Time to load the truck!
Dallin's making the move with us.

Dad thought you might want to see some last pictures of the empty house.

Lots of wonderful memories in this house!

After we finished cleaning the house, we put all the wet rags on the garage hooks to dry before loading them in the car.

Tuesday night we stayed in a hotel in Colorado Springs.  With everything going on, we didn't want to pack our hygiene stuff--so we decided to just throw our hygiene caddies in the car.  We thought it was a good idea . . . until we had to carry our little hygiene caddies through the lobby and up seven stories.  It was a little embarrassing, pa, ha!

Our closing went great on Wednesday--then we were off to Glenwood Springs for the night.  We arrived around 7:45 and found a wonderful Mexican restaurant.  The weather was perfect--so we ate outside.  And they had the most yummy pico made with cabbage.

Thursday morning we went for a walk and discovered a gondola ride.

At the top of the tram was an entire amusement park--who knew?!  We got off and explored a little bit before heading back down.

Glenwood Springs in the background.

After our little adventure we hit the hot tub for about 15 minutes before getting ready and heading out to Utah.  On our way to the Applegates we stopped in Provo for some dinner with Jayna!

She took us to see her new apartment . . . at least the outside.

Friday we went to see the movie The Cokeville Miracle with Grandma and Grandpa Applegate.  It was really good.  Then we had dinner at Sizzler.

That evening Jayna came up to join us and we went to Laura's that night.
Their dog, Nala, loves Grandpa.  But Jayna seemed to make pretty good friends with her, too!

We had a relaxing evening by the fire pit roasting marshmallows and eating shmores.

Dad and I went for bike rides each morning.

Saturday we spent the day with the Pages at Tyler and Janelle's wedding.

In between the wedding and luncheon Dad and I shared a shake at JCW's!

At the wedding luncheon, each family gave a spouse survival kit to their  in law.  It was really clever and funny.

We went to Jeff and Karla's in between the luncheon and reception.  They gave us some yummy peaches from their tree.  I decided I want a peach tree in Rexburg!

The reception.
After the reception we went to the hot tub at Grandma and Grandpa's.
It felt wonderful!

Sunday we got to attend the ordination of Nathan Applegate to the office of Priest.  Then we went back to Bruce and Shaunna's for dinner and a birthday celebration.

Watching some funny videos.

It is now Monday morning.  Dad and I are going to go for another bike ride.  Then we will pack up and head to our new home in Rexburg!  The day has finally come!

  1. I'm so glad you blog. I've been dying to know how it was going. These posts make me sad, happy, anxious, at peace. I'm so excited for this new chapter in your lives, and so glad you had great chapters before.
