July: So Long, Farewell, auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye

It is my week to blog.  I have so many pictures from the past month, I've decided to do a couple different blogs.  This first one is about our last month in Colorado Springs.

July 6th, 2016
Happy Anniversary to us--31 wonderful years!
To celebrate we went out to eat at Bourbon Brothers.

July has been our official "farewell tour."  On the 6th I had lunch with Jennie Bishop.  On the 9th we had a lunch with Dad's accounting group.  On the 10th we had dinner with Pam and Doug Jarvis.  On the 11th we had dinner with the Teeples.  On the 12th I had a lunch at our home with Sherry Pacheco.  And on the 13th we had dinner at the Webbs!  And the goodbyes continued throughout the month . . . sniff sniff.

Pam and Doug Jarvis, longtime friends.

I loved the opportunity I had working with Brother Goss in the North Stake Released-time Seminary Program for 3 1/2 years.

I loved visiting teaching Elvia!  I learned so much from her.

Elvia and her grandson, Jacob.

July 24th--Dad is driving off to his last day of work!
When he comes back, it won't be in the company car!

One of the banks Dad works with came by his office before he left.  They gave him this custom-made Michael Garman statue, along with three boxes of Nothing but Bundt cupcakes.

Dad and I often enjoyed Saturday evenings at Village Inn.  We found we could get a corner booth, where it was pretty quiet, and talk for hours.  So we spent our last Saturday night in Colorado Springs at Village Inn.

Sunday morning, July 26th.
Dad is heading off to church meetings as bishop for the last time.
An emotional day.

The priests decided to honor Dad his last Sunday at church by wearing the Aaron's Camp ties Dad had given them last year.

We'll miss Emily!  So proud of her decisions and progression in the gospel!

Saying goodbye to Jennie Bishop, my longtime friend,
fellow biker, and racquetball buddy.

Dad got in one last round of golf with Todd Anderson the morning before we left.

We have loved our 23 years in Colorado and will dearly miss all the many good people who have influenced our lives for good.
