March Madness!

Here's an update from the past couple weeks!

After 20 years of family dinners, card games, and lots of laughter and memories around our oak table (including Dallin slamming his fist on the table and yelling "Geez Dad" when he was three years old), we actually sold it.

This is what we will eat on until we move into our new house!

On the same day we sold our table, Michelle was celebrating her 29th birthday!
The traditional lighting of the candle continues!

On Saturday, March 12th, we got to go down to Pocatello and spend a little time with Josh and Elizabeth.  We made a Costco run and then had dinner at a yummy place called Butter Burr's.

On Sunday, I traveled to Utah to spend a couple days with Grandma and Grandpa Applegate.  I got there just in time for the March Applegate birthday party!

Laura hosted and the party was centered around March Madness.
Everyone got to randomly draw the name of a team to be connected with.  (Go Maryland!  That was mine!)  Laura put together a fun basket for whoever wins!

There were a few blank spaces on the bracket, so we got to play some basketball games to earn an extra spot.

The boys are playing horse outside.

The girls are trying to make baskets on the Wii.

Laura's helping Jason.

Happy March birthdays to Dustin, Aimee, and Michelle!

On Monday afternoon Jayna got to come up and spend some time with me!
We went shopping.  At the Quilted Bear Jayna found this little gem that made us laugh.  Dallin used to sing this song.  It made us smile . . . and miss him!

Jayna also discovered that she loves IKEA!

My purpose for coming to Utah was to get some work done on Mom's Israel scrapbook.  We didn't get as much done as I was hoping--but we got a good start!
Mom also helped me mend the quilt she gave us for our wedding.

I drove home on Thursday and made it back in time to be with Dad while he did Point Guard Camp for a young woman in our ward.
Do any of these drills look familiar?!

And finally, here's a few pictures of the new house from this week!

A Day in the LIfe

A Day in the Life of the Pages
Wednesday, March 16th, 2016

Brian:  All by myself with my TV tray, CafĂ© Rio, and basketball.

Kathy:  I've spent the last few days in Utah.  Right now we're visiting Jenni to plan meals for the family reunion.

Ty:  I sent Captain Sexton on her first solo in the T-6 today!  She came back safely (as did the aircraft) so it was a success all around.

Michelle:  There's a new season of the Amazing Race on Amazon that we hadn't watched yet, so this is what Ty and I will be doing most nights for awhile.

Afton:  Doing chores--cleaning the glass doors.

Eliza:  Doing chores--putting away the silverware.

Kathryn:  Doing chores--eating rocks and practicing tricks.

Josh:  Drinking my protein!

Elizabeth:  My friend Brittany and I started decorating the nursery!

Jayna:  Lunch date with Mom.

Dallin:  I tried to make a mega desk like Dwight--but it did not turn out as well as his.

Implants, Bambinos, and Eclaires

Here's a bunch of miscellaneous things from the last two weeks.

Dad had the first part of an implant done on February 25th.
Everything went well.  It took him a few days to recover.

The next Saturday, February 27th, we had Josh and Elizabeth, Allan and Becky, and Lauren over for Bambinos!  (Bambinos are a scone that has pizza on the inside.)  It was so much fun having them all here!

Allan brought his chess board over!

We tried to take a picture for Jeannette's Cluster site.
Here are just three of our about 20 attempts!

On Friday, March 4th, we had our "E" date.
Dad was in charge.

We started by seeing the movie, "Eddie" the "Eagle."  (Double E bonus!)

Then it was off to a dinner of enchiladas!  Yum!

And finally, back home to eat "eclaires!"  Extra yummy!

We had such an "enjoyable" time!
