Get the Work Done Day

We finally got our driveway, sidewalks, and stairs poured this week!
Hopefully we can park in our garage again in two weeks.

After a frustrating couple of weeks, of feeling like we just haven't been able to get anything accomplished in our house, we had a total kick butt "Get the Work Done Day" on Saturday!

It started with a 13 mile bike ride.  We went exploring around the country roads near our home.  It was fun!

I've been sooooo nervous about hanging the heavy mirror in our bedroom.  It was going to create two big holes in the wall--and it had to be exact.

But between Dad and I both measuring, a couple of times, we nailed it!  Phew!

Dad also got our TV hung on the wall.  That was another big project done!

And then we accomplished lots of other little things that we've been trying to get to.  We ordered a rug, for our dining room, for the third time.  Hopefully this one will work!  I didn't get a picture.  But just so you know, Dad totally conquered the bird.  Last round.  The entire dryer vent is now covered.  If the bird figures out a way to get in now, then it deserves to win.

May Blessings, Moms, and Missionaries

Grant and Gladys, and Jayna and Joseph, came up on May 6th so they could be here for Layla's blessing.

We had to get Karie Anne's while they were here!

And we had our own little Award's Ceremony where I presented Joseph with his Rita's gift card for winning the Page March Madness bracket.  Good job, Joseph!

Sunday, May 8th, was such a special day.
First, it was Layla's baby blessing.

All the priesthood holders that assisted in the blessing.
Brian, Ben, Dan, Josh, Allan, Brian, Grant
Scott, and Joseph

It was fun hanging out with both families while we waited for Dallin's Mother's Day phone call!

Little Layla's eyes bug out when she's being burped!

Another highlight of the day was talking to Dallin!
He is doing so well.  It's hard to believe he only has three months left.

After talking with Dallin, Jayna and Joseph headed home.  Grant and Gladys came back to Rexburg with us so they could attend one of Brian's classes on Monday.

They left to go back to Provo on Tuesday morning.
It was such a wonderful weekend.
Our family is the greatest blessing in our lives.

The Engagement!

The Hawkes Flock came to visit us on April 30th and spent the night.
We tried to see how many people we could fit in our shower!

Dad has been going the rounds with the birds who keep trying to build a nest in our dryer vent.  So far it stands:  Dad-1, Bird-1, now is round 3.

And on May 4th, Joseph and Jayna got engaged!
Woo hoo!!!
Welcome, Joseph--we are so happy you are part of our family!

Save the date:  August 5th in the Provo City Center Temple!
